Laurie Conner

President & CEO, The Detection Group

Laurie has a 30-year career in business development and marketing for a number of high technology companies, including New Focus, Silicon Valley Group, and Raychem. At Raychem (now Pentair), she helped establish the water leak detection market 20 years ago and has a proven record of successfully bringing new products and technologies to market. 

 

Laurie graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA in General Management, Stanford University with an MSE in Environmental Engineering, Duke University with a BSE in Civil & Environmental Engineering and French.

Don Lee

Principal at Donald A. Lee Executive Search

Don has been in the heart of Silicon Valley for over 40 years. Aftter being involved in the early development of the computer hardware and peripherals industry, Don moved into a career as an entrepreneur, and now as an investor. He has supported companies across a range of industries includeing the Internet of Things (IoT), e-commerce, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), enterprise software, hardware, semiconductors and life sciences. An active angel investor with the Band of Angels, Don serves on a small group of thoughtfully selected boards. He has led the Band of Angels' investments in The Detection Group.

Through his own executive search firm, Don recruits and supports CEO's, CFO's and VP's for public and venture-backed technology companies.

Phil Mahoney

Vice Chairman at Newmark Cornish & Carey Commercial

Phil is one of the most successful commercial real estate brokers in Northern California. Phil has been among Newmark Cornish & Carey’s top five producers since 1982. He has negotiated over 1,025 transactions totaling more than 70 million square feet of space valued at over $18 billion.

 

He has a unique understanding, perspective, and awareness of the two largest technology markets: Silicon Valley and Greater Boston. In 1992, Phil was appointed senior vice president and manager of Newmark Cornish & Carey’s Santa Clara office. He left his managerial post in 1995 to become a partner and director. He currently helps lead its Corporate and Institutional Services Group.

Rich Slevin

President of ODI, CEO at Spracht

Rich is the founder and president of ODI, where he has developed and manufactured countless consumer, commercial, military, and medical electronic products since 1993. Rich purchased Dtection, Inc. in 2013 and is now a major stockholder in The Detection Group.


Among other innovative products, Rich is responsible for the development of the first PC camera - the Connectix Quickcam, and the first LCD picture frame - the Kensington PhotoFrame. Rich has been leading and inventing new products at the rate of about a dozen a year for OEM customers. 

In 2008, Rich spun out his second company, Spracht, an acclaimed innovater in the teleconferencing and video conferencing markets. Previously, Rich was VP at a Kyocera subsidiary where he expanded Kyocera’s manufacturing into low-cost Southeast Asia locations. In total, he has created and incubated 7 successful technology companies.

Henry M. Edmonds ​

Henry is the founder and president of The Edmonds Group (TEG).  TEG is one of the leading developers of equity, debt and M&A transactions for lower middle market companies in recurring revenue businesses with a focus on the security and Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS) industries.  TEG has closed over 50 transactions representing over $3 billion in transaction value since its founding in 2004.

Allen Fritts

Allen retired from the position of president of Honeywell Fire Systems, the world’s leading manufacturer of fire alarm and life saftey systems and a global business unit of Honeywell International, Inc.

As a leader in the industry, he has served as president and was on the board of directors for the Security Industry Association (SIA), board of directors for the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and the Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA). 

Bob Tandler

Bob, a native of St. Louis, MO, practiced law in San Francisco for nine years before joining his wife, Valli Benesch, to co-lead Fritzi California, a women’s apparel manufacturing business based in San Francisco. Today, the two are co-CEOs of Fritzi Realty, a real estate investment, management and development firm. Bob is also an active angel investor and a member of The Angels’ Forum, based in Palo Alto. 

Joy Weiss

Vice President, IoT and Security Solutions at Analog Devices

Joy has held executive leadership positions at a variety of private and public technology companies. Joy was CEO of Dust Networks when it was acquired by Linear Technology in 2011. Joy serves on the boards of Vigilent and Tempo Automation, and is chair of the board at Playworks, a national non-profit organization.
